About Chef John
A dedicated food service professional with over 35 years experience. Before launching a consulting business Chef John owned and operated his own restaurant and catering business, spent 5 years supervising retail Deli/Bakery operations and 6 years as a broker Chef. Much earlier in his career Chef John left the food service industry for industrial sales beginning as a territory salesman and leaving the company, six years later, as their National Sales Manager; success was nice but the passion for food was stronger.
From 1980 to 1986 Chef John was a regular feature on a morning variety show on KWTV, Oklahoma City’s CBS affiliate.
From 1987 to 1992 Chef John hosted the talk radio program, “The Chef Show” on News Radio 1000 KTOK.
From 1999 to 2004 Chef John and his wife Amber co-hosted the lively and informative talk radio show “What’s Cooking! With Amber & Chef John, the tastiest talk show in America!” on News Radio 1000 KTOK and WKY.
Chef John was the first Visiting Chef in the Visiting Chef’s Program at The School of Hotel & Restaurant Administration, Oklahoma State University in 1991. A program that continues today with fine chefs from all over the country. He is still a regular speaker for the university. Chef John is frequently asked to speak to groups of all sizes and consults for manufacturers.
